Connected Health Care is actively seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a fantastic opportunity near Albuquerque, NM. This contract position offers a 36-week contract with weekly compensation up to $46/hr based on experience. We are a recruitment and staffing firm focused on healthcare and educational services, and this role is for one of our esteemed educational services clients.

Position Overview: As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will play a vital role in supporting students by providing therapeutic services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. You will work directly with children to help improve their ability to perform daily activities and enhance their overall motor, sensory, cognitive, and behavioral skills in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing direct occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Implement and follow individualized treatment plans designed to address motor, sensory, cognitive, and behavioral challenges.
  • Monitor, track, and document the progress of students, adjusting therapy interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and parents to ensure comprehensive care and student success.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date therapy records, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Support students with physical and cognitive disabilities, promoting independence in school-related activities.

Education & Certification Requirements:

  • Must be a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a valid license in New Mexico.
  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Previous experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy is preferred but not required.
