Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - West Des Moines, IA
Location: UnityPoint Health - Methodist West HospitalÂ
Contract: Travel Position
Shift: Night Shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) | 13-Week Assignment
About the Opportunity:
Connected Health Care, a Joint Commission-Certified staffing agency, is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment at UnityPoint Health - Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines, IA. This position is perfect for an RN passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care for mothers and their newborns in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum
- Monitor laboring mothers and assess fetal development, vital signs, and contractions
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other team members to ensure a safe, supportive birthing experience
- Administer medications and assist with pain management as needed
- Educate mothers and families on postpartum care and newborn essentials

Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license (Iowa)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in labor and delivery
- Strong communication, empathy, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations
