Job Type: Travel Position

Schedule:

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: June 24, 2024
  • End Date: September 21, 2024

Job Summary: Atrium Health Cleveland is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our outpatient team in Shelby, NC. The successful candidate will evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy programs to restore function, prevent disability, and enhance physical abilities for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and establish appropriate care plans using various assessment techniques.
  • Plan and conduct physical therapy programs, including modalities, procedures, exercise programs, therapeutic groups, and patient education.
  • Gather and interpret data from medical records, physician reports, and patient/family input.
  • Establish functional goals in collaboration with patients and provide evidence-based interventions.
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, daily treatment notes, patient/family education, outcomes, and discharge notes.
  • Communicate patient evaluations and progress to physicians, referral sources, and other clinical staff.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and Rehab Technicians/Aides as required.
  • Ensure patient care and safety protocols are maintained.

Physical Requirements:

  • Adequate hearing and vision (corrected) for effective communication and reading.
  • Intelligible speech and adequate language/cognitive skills.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day.
  • Occasionally required to climb stairs, kneel, twist, bend, crouch, crawl, and reach overhead.
  • Frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally transfer patients weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Demonstrate appropriate exercises and activities to patients/caregivers.
  • Use of personal protective equipment as needed due to exposure to hazardous chemicals or blood and body fluids.
  • Work in a fast-paced clinical environment, primarily indoors but occasionally outdoors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • State license for Physical Therapy in North Carolina.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Minimum of 2 years of outpatient physical therapy experience.
  • Preferred experience in orthopedic, neurological, and vestibular therapy.
