Location: Joplin, MO
Contract Length: 8 Weeks
Pay Rate: $1,600 per week - $40/hr
Shift: 5x8-hour shifts
Connected Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for an 8-week contract in Joplin, MO. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Acute Rehab Unit with 11 beds and a 17-bed LTACH. As a PTA, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nursing, respiratory, dietitians, and physicians, to provide excellent patient care.
Job Description:
The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide physical rehabilitation therapy services to assigned patients. You will help patients improve mobility through exercises and other techniques, developing and maintaining patient treatment plans in line with the PTA Practice Act in Missouri.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients in improving mobility through exercise and therapy techniques.
- Follow protocol orders accurately and effectively.
- Develop and update patient treatment plans, including patient goals and therapy interventions.
- Monitor and document patient progress, communicating regularly with the Physical Therapist and care team.
- Encourage patients during their recovery process and provide motivation.
- Teach patients, family members, and caregivers techniques to assist with the treatment plan.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Active Physical Therapy License in Missouri.
- BLS Certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Inpatient experience required Â
