Job Title: Radiology Tech - Atrium Health 

Type: Travel Contract (18 weeks)

Location:

  • Charlotte, NC 28203

Schedule:

  • 36 hours per week
  • 3x12-hour shifts: Saturday to Monday, 7 AM - 7:30 PM

Start Date: 07/01/2024
End Date: 11/02/2024

Job Summary: The Radiology Tech will perform radiographic examinations under the direction of the Radiologist, coordinating daily activities including examinations and clerical duties. The role involves minimal supervision and requires a high level of proficiency in operating radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform and assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Document patient history related to specific procedures.
  • Confirm patient identification through verbal confirmation and proof of identity validation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media as required.
  • Consult with radiologists and other physicians as necessary.
  • Select and operate equipment according to the demands of individual procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate records as per departmental standards.

Skills and Physical Requirements:

  • Requires strenuous physical effort to assist patients from wheelchairs and stretchers.
  • Must handle equipment and monitoring supplies.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff.
  • Frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling required.
  • Ability to use hands for precision and power gripping.
  • Necessary vision and hearing for distances up to 10 feet.
  • Adaptable to changes in temperature and humidity.
  • May be exposed to various physical conditions, such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and being near moving equipment.

Education and Certifications:

  • Successful completion of a formal Radiology Technology Program in an AMA Approved facility.
  • ARRT (R) certification required.
  • BLS (AHA or ARC) certification required.

Skills:

  • Required: Radiographic, Radiology, Temperature and Humidity Control, Clerical Skills, ARRT Certification.
  • Additional: Climbing, Anatomic Knowledge.

Languages:

  • English: Speak, Read, Write
