Travel Emergency Room and Medsurg RN – Saint Francis, Kansas – 3x12 or 4x12 Night Shifts
We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Emergency Room and Medsurg RN to join our team in Saint Francis, Kansas. This position offers 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts, with a primary focus on Emergency Room (ER) care. The ideal candidate will have experience in both ER and Medsurg settings, and be ready to work in a fast-paced environment where you can make a difference in patient care.
Job Description:
- Provide emergency nursing care for patients in the Emergency Room, including trauma, medical emergencies, and urgent care needs.
- Perform patient assessments, provide emergency interventions, and ensure high-quality patient care in the ER.
- Work in a critical access hospital, providing MedSurg nursing care when ER patient volume is low.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist with diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Assist physicians and healthcare team in providing immediate care during emergency situations.
- Collaborate with a team of nurses, techs, and physicians to deliver comprehensive care to patients.
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation of patient care and treatment.
- Work on MedSurg unit when needed, providing care for patients recovering from surgeries, illnesses, and medical procedures.
- Provide patient education on health management, self-care after discharge, and prevention of future medical complications.
- Be flexible to work on both ER and MedSurg units, depending on the department's needs.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Active RN license in the state of Kansas or compact state.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of ER and MedSurg experience required.
- Experience with EMR systems (preferred experience with Cerner).
- Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations with professionalism and urgency.
