Full-Time Laboratory Supervisor

Location: Butler, Pennsylvania

Job Description

• Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.

• Manage and mentor a team of laboratory technologists, technicians, and support staff.

• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CLIA, CAP, and OSHA.

• Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate test results.

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve laboratory processes.

• Coordinate with physicians, pathologists, and other healthcare providers to support optimal patient care.

• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain laboratory functionality.

• Assist with staff scheduling and performance evaluations.

• Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Education and Certification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field required.

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by ASCP or equivalent strongly preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.

• Supervisory or management experience highly desirable.

• Proven expertise in histology and cytology required.
