Job Description

Job Title: Floating Special Education Teacher

Location: York and Adams Counties, Pennsylvania

Start Date: ASAP

Grade Levels: Pre-K-Transition (all grade levels)

Responsibilities: As a Floating Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs across various grade levels (Pre-K-Transition) in both York and Adams Counties. This position involves serving as a flexible and adaptable substitute teacher, covering short-term and/or long-term assignments based on the schools' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering high-quality special education instruction tailored to individual student needs.
  2. Implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and adapting instructional materials to support diverse learning styles.
  3. Collaborating with classroom teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
  4. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, assessments, and communication with parents/guardians.
  5. Demonstrating flexibility by seamlessly transitioning between schools and classrooms in York and Adams Counties as needed.
  6. Establishing positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive educational community.
  7. Adhering to all school policies, procedures, and special education regulations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  2. Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  3. Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities.
  4. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  6. Ability to adapt quickly to different teaching environments and grade levels.
  7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
