Connected Health Care is searching for an Acute Care/ED Nurse to serve in a critical access hospital near Beatrice, NE.
Job Summary: The Acute Care / ED Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the acute care setting, particularly in the emergency department. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to ensure optimal outcomes. They collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient management.
Responsibilities:

Assessment and Triage:
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
- Prioritize and triage patients based on the urgency and severity of their condition.

Patient Care:
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and document patient progress, including changes in condition and response to treatment.
- Perform emergency medical procedures, such as CPR, wound care, and starting IV lines.

Collaboration:
- Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate patient status and updates to the healthcare team in a timely and accurate manner.

Patient Education:
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
- Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care recommendations.

Documentation:
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.

Emergency Response:
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as required.
- Assist in stabilizing critically ill or injured patients.

Adherence to Protocols:
- Follow hospital policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety and quality care delivery.
- Adhere to infection control standards to prevent the spread of infections.

Emotional Support:
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during times of stress and crisis.

Continuing Education:
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in nursing practice, emergency care, and medical technology.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain nursing skills and certifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license.
- Experience: Previous experience in acute care, emergency department, or critical care nursing is often preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications may be required.
- Skills: Strong critical thinking, assessment, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
