Position Summary:
As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing high-complexity testing in a fast-paced, critical access setting. This role requires generalist experience and adaptability across various laboratory disciplines including Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank.
Responsibilities:

Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures across multiple departments
-
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation
-
Collect and prepare specimens for analysis
-
Record and analyze data accurately, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
-
Communicate effectively with physicians and nursing staff regarding test results
-
Participate in quality control and proficiency testing programs
-
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized working environment
-
Provide support during inspections and audits
-
Rotate weekend and holiday coverage as assigned
Schedule:

Nights: 7on/7off

Education & Certification Requirements:

Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a NAACLS-accredited program
-
MLT (ASCP) or MLT (AMT) certification required
-
Active Alabama MLT license (or ability to obtain)

1+ years of generalist experience preferred
-
Experience in critical access or rural hospital settings a plus
-
Strong multitasking, communication, and analytical skills
