Position Overview
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations, assisting physicians in patient care, and maintaining accurate imaging records. This role requires expertise in cross-sectional anatomy, proficiency with imaging equipment, and commitment to patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to established protocols
- Prepare and maintain patients for imaging procedures
- Capture high-quality images for physician interpretation
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
- Operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment safely and effectively
- Adhere to department policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety during procedures
Education and Certification Requirements
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification required
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Prior experience in a clinical imaging environment preferred
