Position Overview:
Connected Health Care is currently recruiting a Full Time Hospital Billing Specialist for a healthcare client located just north of Meridian, ID. This role is perfect for someone with experience in medical billing, coding, and insurance claims management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hospital billing systems, CPT and ICD-10 coding, and excellent attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of hospital billing including charge entry, coding, and claim submission.
- Ensure accurate billing for services provided by the hospital, verifying codes, and resolving discrepancies.
- Verify patient insurance information and work with insurance companies to resolve issues and denials.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all billing processes, adjustments, and payments.
- Process claims in a timely manner to ensure a consistent cash flow for the hospital.
- Follow up on unpaid claims, working to resolve billing issues promptly.
- Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and provide clear explanations of charges.
- Stay informed of changes in coding and billing regulations to ensure compliance with current laws and standards.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or other relevant billing/coding certification preferred, but not required.Â
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in hospital billing or healthcare billing, with a strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes.Â
- Knowledge of UB and HCFA billing
- Proficient in using billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain billing procedures clearly to patients and insurance representatives.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare insurance plans, payment structures, and billing practices.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a collaborative healthcare setting.
