Connected Health Care is working with a facility in need of a full-time Laboratory Director. This is a small critical access facility located near Superior Nebraska. If you are an experienced lab candidate looking for your next opportunity, this may be for you!
As a Laboratory Director in a clinical setting, you will assume a pivotal leadership role, overseeing the operations of the laboratory to ensure accurate and timely diagnostic services. Your expertise will drive quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and efficient workflows, ultimately contributing to exceptional patient care and medical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary direction to the laboratory department, aligning goals with the overall healthcare organization's mission and objectives.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory standards, including CLIA, CAP, and state regulations, to maintain accreditation and ensure patient safety.

Quality Assurance: Develop and implement comprehensive quality control and quality assurance programs to uphold the accuracy and reliability of test results.

Personnel Management: Lead, mentor, and manage laboratory staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.

Process Optimization: Evaluate and enhance laboratory workflows to maximize efficiency while maintaining quality standards. Implement process improvements based on data analysis and industry best practices.

Resource Allocation: Manage laboratory resources effectively, including personnel, instruments, reagents, and supplies, to meet testing demands while controlling costs.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate closely with healthcare providers, physicians, and clinical teams to ensure seamless integration of laboratory services into patient care plans.

Technology Integration: Stay abreast of emerging laboratory technologies and methodologies, evaluating their suitability for incorporation into the laboratory's operations.

Budget Oversight: Develop and manage the laboratory budget, balancing financial sustainability with the need for cutting-edge equipment and quality services.

Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze laboratory data and trends to inform decision-making, produce accurate reports, and present findings to stakeholders.

Patient Safety: Champion patient safety by ensuring proper specimen collection, handling, and accurate reporting of test results.
Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field is typically required.

Certification: Current certification as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is essential. ASCP.

Experience: Substantial experience in clinical laboratory operations, including progressive leadership roles and expertise in regulatory compliance.

Leadership Skills: Outstanding leadership, communication, and team-building abilities to foster a positive and high-performance work environment.

Regulatory Knowledge: Profound understanding of CLIA, CAP, and other relevant laboratory regulations.

Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical and operational challenges effectively.
