Job Description

Travel Cook / Food Service Worker – Hospital Setting – Holdrege, NE

Connected Health Care, a top-tier recruitment and staffing firm, is partnered with a respected healthcare facility near Holdrege, Nebraska, to find a dedicated and experienced Cook / Food Service Worker for an exciting travel assignment. Assignment Details:

  • Location: Near Holdrege, NE

  • Setting: Hospital / Healthcare Facility

  • Status: Travel Assignment

  • Shift: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

  • Duration: 13 weeks with potential extensions

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to hospital dietary guidelines and physician-prescribed diets

  • Follow recipes and menu cycles while ensuring proper portion control and food safety standards

  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and food service tools

  • Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas according to health code regulations

  • Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care

Qualifications:

  • Valid Food Handler’s Certification required

  • 2+ years of food service or cooking experience in a hospital or healthcare setting strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and food safety procedures

  • Ability to manage time effectively and work in a high-volume environment

  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
