Job Title: Locum Tenens ER Physician – Near Carlsbad, NM
Job Description: Connected Health Care is actively seeking a skilled and experienced ER Physician for a 13-week locum tenens assignment near Carlsbad, New Mexico. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emergency care to patients with a variety of acute and life-threatening conditions.
- Perform life-saving procedures, including intubation, suturing, chest tube placement, and other critical interventions.
- Assess, stabilize, and treat patients in a busy emergency room.
- Triage patients based on the severity of their conditions to ensure efficient care delivery.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, medical staff, and support teams to manage patient flow and quality care.
- Document patient interactions, diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedures in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and medical protocols.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior medical staff when needed.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine (preferred).
- Active medical license in New Mexico (or ability to obtain licensure).
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required.
- Previous experience working in an emergency department setting is highly preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
Contract Details:
- Contract Length: 13 weeks.
- Weekly Compensation: Up to $210/hr based on experience.
- Full-time, flexible shift options.
