Job Title: Locum Tenens ER Physician – Near Carlsbad, NM

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide emergency care to patients with a variety of acute and life-threatening conditions.
• Perform life-saving procedures, including intubation, suturing, chest tube placement, and other critical interventions.
• Assess, stabilize, and treat patients in a busy emergency room.
• Triage patients based on the severity of their conditions to ensure efficient care delivery.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, medical staff, and support teams to manage patient flow and quality care.
• Document patient interactions, diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedures in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and medical protocols.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior medical staff when needed.

Education & Certification Requirements:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine (preferred).
• Active medical license in New Mexico (or ability to obtain licensure).
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required.
• Previous experience working in an emergency department setting is highly preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in emergency situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

• Contract Length: 13 weeks.
• Weekly Compensation: Up to $210/hr based on experience.
