MLT/MT Job - Northern Louisiana

Position: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Technologist (MT)

Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures with accuracy and precision
• Collect and process patient samples, ensuring proper handling and adherence to established protocols
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance
• Analyze test results, interpret findings, and accurately record and report data
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide timely and reliable laboratory information for patient care
• Follow quality control procedures and participate in quality assurance activities
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Stay updated on advancements in laboratory science, techniques, and technology
• Assist with inventory management, reagent ordering, and stock rotation as needed
• Collaborate with the laboratory team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient laboratory operations

Requirements:

• MLT: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from an accredited institution
• MT: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field from an accredited institution
• MLT or MT certification from a recognized certification agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT, AAB)
• Current and unrestricted licensure as required by the State of Louisiana
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and instrumentation
• Proficiency in performing a wide range of laboratory tests across various disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.)
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and healthcare professionals
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, patient privacy, and data integrity
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic medical records
