MLT/MT Job - Northern Louisiana

Position: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) / Medical Technologist (MT)
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures with accuracy and precision
- Collect and process patient samples, ensuring proper handling and adherence to established protocols
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance
- Analyze test results, interpret findings, and accurately record and report data
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide timely and reliable laboratory information for patient care
- Follow quality control procedures and participate in quality assurance activities
- Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory science, techniques, and technology
- Assist with inventory management, reagent ordering, and stock rotation as needed
- Collaborate with the laboratory team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient laboratory operations
Requirements:
- MLT: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from an accredited institution
- MT: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field from an accredited institution
- MLT or MT certification from a recognized certification agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT, AAB)
- Current and unrestricted licensure as required by the State of Louisiana
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and instrumentation
- Proficiency in performing a wide range of laboratory tests across various disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and healthcare professionals
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, patient privacy, and data integrity
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic medical records
