Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Night Shift)

Location: Fairfield, IL
Schedule: Full-time, 3x12s (36 hours/week)
Contract: 13-week contract with potential for permanent hire
Setting: Critical Access Hospital
Compensation: $65/hr

Connected Health Care is partnering with a leading Critical Access facility in Fairfield, IL to hire an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse. Position Overview

As an Emergency Department RN, you will deliver high-quality patient care in a community-focused hospital environment. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients experiencing urgent and emergent health needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to Emergency Department patients

  • Triage and respond quickly to patient conditions and emergencies

  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and perform necessary procedures

  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and care instructions

  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation

  • Uphold facility and healthcare safety standards and policies

Qualifications

  • Required: Active RN license (IL or compact)

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room experience preferred; critical access experience a plus

  • Certifications Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred

  • TNCC preferred

  • Strong critical thinking and triage skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced rural hospital setting
