Travel ICU Stepdown Registered Nurse – Evansville, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Weekly Compensation: Up to $2,550 (based on experience)
Connected Health Care, a leading recruitment and staffing firm, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Travel ICU Stepdown Registered Nurse to join one of our trusted healthcare partners in Evansville, Indiana. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled RN to deliver high-quality patient care in a supportive, state-of-the-art environment while exploring one of Indiana’s most inviting cities.
Shift Requirements:
• 12-Hour Days | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Float Requirement: First to float within skill set
• On Call/Call Back: N/A
• Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends per six-week schedule; every other holiday
Job Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the ICU Stepdown unit, closely monitoring vital signs and assessing changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide advanced patient support under physician supervision
• Manage ventilators, cardiac monitors, and other critical care equipment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to create and implement individualized care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic EMR
• Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity at all times
• Maintain infection control and adhere to all facility and regulatory policies
Education and Certification Requirements:
• Education: ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program
• License: Active Compact RN License
• Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS (required at submission)
Experience and Skills Required:
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Stepdown experience + 1 completed travel contract OR 5 years of strong Stepdown experience if no travel background
• Epic charting experience required (must be recent)
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced clinical settings and manage multiple high-acuity patients
• Compassionate and team-oriented approach to patient care
