Contract to Perm OR RN Circulator – Franklin, TN
Connected Health Care, a leading recruitment and staffing firm, is proud to partner with a highly regarded healthcare facility in Franklin, Tennessee. We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN Circulator) for a contract-to-perm position. This role offers stability, professional growth, and the opportunity to work in one of the most vibrant communities in Middle Tennessee.
Main Function
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients in compliance with recognized Standards of Practice, State Practice Act Standards, and organizational protocols, policies, and procedures. The OR RN Circulator supervises and directs patient care in a single operating room.
Duties, Responsibilities, and Competencies
- Assess patient and family needs to ensure quality care
- Organize time, equipment, supplies, and personnel for efficient case management
- Manage costs by using supplies economically and ensuring effective turnover time
- Prepare the operating room based on procedure and patient requirements
- Safely implement the plan of care and maintain a secure environment, including proper patient positioning, prepping, and draping
- Conduct surgical "time out" procedures to ensure correct patient, procedure, and site
- Maintain asepsis during all procedures and handle sterile items properly
- Account for all sponges, needles, and sharps with accurate documentation
- Anticipate the surgical team’s needs and support anesthesia staff during procedures
- Maintain licensure, certifications, and current clinical knowledge
- Serve as a role model and provide support for new and current staff
- Demonstrate professional communication and teamwork with surgical staff
- Adhere to all safety training, infection control, and exposure protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license (Tennessee or compact state)
- Minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS required (PALS preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience
