Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Position Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and assist in daily clinical operations within the Skilled Nursing Facility. The LPN plays a critical role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care to residents in a long-term care (LTC) setting.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and changes in status
- Assist with treatments, wound care, and basic nursing procedures
- Support Registered Nurses (RNs) with care planning and implementation
- Provide direct bedside care to residents in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Promote infection control and patient safety standards
Education & Certification Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long-Term Care (LTC) experience preferred
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
