Ophthalmology Surgical Tech - Days - $60K/yr!

What You’ll Do:
As an Ophthalmology Surgical Tech, you will assist during ophthalmic surgeries, prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, and support surgeons with instrument passing, retraction, and maintaining a sterile environment. You’ll ensure all surgical setups are meticulously prepared and assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the operating room. Your role is vital in delivering safe and efficient surgical procedures, with opportunities to cross-train into other specialties to broaden your skills.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Tech, preferably in ophthalmology or multi-specialty settings
- Proficiency in sterile technique and instrument sterilization protocols
- Ability to prepare patients and surgical areas efficiently
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work under general supervision
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in cross-training across multiple surgical specialties
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (not mandatory)
- Knowledge of patient care appropriate to all ages (6 months through adult)
Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional surgical tech training or certifications welcomed
- At least 2 years of surgical experience in an ambulatory surgery center setting
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (6:30 am – 3:00 pm)
- Reliable transportation to Peoria, IL
- Commitment to maintaining a sterile, safe, and patient-centered environment
