Contract Length: 36 weeks
Weekly Compensation: Up to $55/Hr, based on experience
Job Description:
As an Occupational Therapist, you will work closely with students to assess, develop, and implement therapeutic interventions that enhance their ability to perform daily activities and participate fully in their educational environment. Your role will be vital in promoting independence, mobility, and social integration for students with physical, developmental, or emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, coordination, and functional abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to students' needs and goals.
- Provide one-on-one or small group therapy sessions to improve students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and overall functioning.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to incorporate therapy goals into classroom activities.
- Assist in the development of classroom modifications and adaptive equipment to support student participation.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide education and support to families regarding strategies to use at home to further assist in therapy.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights regarding student progress and goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
Education + Certification Requirements:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in Arizona.
- Experience working with children, particularly in educational settings, is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and families.
- Ability to develop and implement effective therapy plans.
- Familiarity with IEP development and documentation.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
