Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse – St. Francis, Kansas – 3x12 or 4x12 Night Shifts

We are seeking a skilled Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts in St. Francis, Kansas. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join a dedicated team, providing exceptional care in the Labor and Delivery unit, while also being flexible to float to MedSurg as needed.

Job Description:

• Provide nursing care to laboring patients, assisting with the delivery of newborns and ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and child.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and provide support during labor and delivery.
• Assist in postpartum care, including monitoring the mother’s physical and emotional recovery after childbirth.
• Assist with fetal monitoring, pain management, and complications management during labor and delivery.
• Provide patient education on childbirth, breastfeeding, and newborn care to ensure the best possible outcomes for the mother and infant.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to create individualized care plans.
• Float to MedSurg units as needed to provide additional nursing support, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and caring for patients recovering from surgery or illness.
• Document all assessments, treatments, and patient progress accurately in the EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system.
• Ensure compliance with infection control standards and maintain a clean, sterile environment in the delivery room.

Education & Certification Requirements:

• Active RN License required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
• Labor and Delivery experience required, with a strong understanding of OB care and fetal monitoring.
• MedSurg experience preferred, as the role requires flexibility to float between departments.

Required Experience:

• 2+ years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience in a hospital setting.
• Strong clinical skills in maternal and newborn care.
• Ability to float to MedSurg and provide care for a variety of patients outside the L&D unit.
• Experience with fetal monitoring and complications management during labor and delivery.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and educate patients and families.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle high-acuity situations effectively.
