Job Title: Radiology Technician (Direct Hire)

Reports to: OR Manager, Director of Nursing
Schedule: No nights, no weekends, no holidays, no on-call requirement
Location: Springfield, MA

Job Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Radiology Technician to join our team in a direct hire position. As a Radiology Technician, you will be responsible for performing fluoroscopy (C-arm) procedures in the operating room. Additionally, you will participate in the preoperative assessment of patients, maintain and document equipment calibration, and ensure accurate record-keeping of all C-arm procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform fluoroscopy (C-arm) procedures in the operating room.
  • Participate in preoperative assessment of patients.
  • Maintain and document proper equipment calibration.
  • Keep a log of all C-arm procedures.
  • Support the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Center.
  • Adhere to approved policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the total perioperative process as a team member.
  • Consider patient rights in the performance of job duties.
  • Contribute to the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program.
  • Support risk management and patient/staff safety programs.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and committees.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education.
  • Attend meetings, committees, and in-services according to job responsibilities and Center requirements.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Respond to emergency situations with competence and composure.
  • Comprehend and interpret verbal orders and directions accurately.

Education, Experience, and Training:

  • Associates Degree in Applied Science (A.S) or equivalent from a two-year college and technical school.
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) years of radiology technician experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • A.A.R.T certification.
  • BLS certification.

Computer Skills:

  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.

Physical Demands: The physical demands include lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds regularly. The employee is required to walk, sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while performing the duties of this job.
