The labor and delivery staff have specialized experience in childbirth support and newborn care. In this role, you can expect to Evaluate assigned patients and plan, implement, and document nursing care.

During your first few weeks in this OB role, you can expect to begin work on some of the following:

• Conducting initial and ongoing assessments of the patient and family; patient care may include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stage
• Assisting with amniocentesis, versions, vaginal deliveries, vacuum extractions, forceps deliveries, and circulating for cesarean sections
• Performing various patient tests and administering medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
• Promoting patients' independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills

Current RN licensure is required to apply for this RN OB position. You will also need BLS and ACLS, as well as the ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.
