Travel NICU RN – 12-Hour Night Shifts – Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Connected Health Care is partnering with a prestigious healthcare facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to find a Travel NICU RN for 12-hour night shifts. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurses to work in a dynamic and specialized environment, providing critical care to newborns in need of immediate and advanced medical attention.
Job Description:
- Provide specialized care to critically ill or preterm newborns in the NICU.
- Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, and laboratory results to ensure the safety and health of neonates.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments as prescribed, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with neonatologists, pediatricians, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
- Perform life-saving procedures, including intubation, resuscitation, and other emergency interventions.
- Educate parents and families on the care and progress of their newborn, offering support and guidance.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress in the EMR (Electronic Medical Record).
- Maintain a sterile environment and ensure infection control protocols are followed at all times.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Active RN License required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred.
- NICU experience required, preferably in a level III NICU setting.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience required.
- Strong experience in providing critical care for neonates, including preterm infants and those requiring advanced life support.
- Ability to work independently in high-stress, high-acuity situations.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with medical teams and provide support to families.
