Travel Occupational Therapist – LTC Setting – Near Abilene, TX
New Grads Welcome | Full-Time Schedule | Housing & Travel Stipends Available

Pay: $2,163 per week
Schedule: 5 days/week (8-hour day shifts)
Weekends: Not required, but flexible options available

A skilled long-term care facility near Abilene, Texas is seeking a passionate and driven Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) to join its dynamic rehabilitation team. This full-time travel assignment offers an enriching clinical environment, professional support, and a chance to work with a wide range of innovative therapy programs.

This opportunity is ideal for new graduates or experienced OTs looking to grow their skills in an upscale facility featuring two fully equipped rehab gyms. Therapists typically see 8–12 residents per day, with a 90% productivity expectation. The standard schedule is five 8-hour days, with an option to work one weekend day and flex a day off during the week.

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat residents in a skilled nursing facility using evidence-based techniques

  • Create and implement individualized treatment plans that promote functional independence

  • Document in Net Health (formerly Rehab Optima) and collaborate with team members via PointClickCare (PCC)

  • Participate in facility-wide rehabilitation programs, ensuring quality outcomes and regulatory compliance

  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary staff, residents, and families

  • Support patient-centered discharge planning and caregiver training

Specialty Programs You’ll Support

  • VitalStim® Therapy (for dysphagia)

  • Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation

  • Incontinence Management Program

  • Wound Care and Positioning Program

  • Outpatient Therapy Services

  • Falls Management and Prevention Program

Qualifications

  • Active Occupational Therapist license in the state of Texas (or eligible for travel licensure)

  • New graduates are welcome to apply

  • Strong time management, organization, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to meet a 90% productivity standard

  • Experience with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
