Travel Rehabilitation RN – 12-Hour Variable Shifts – Wausau, Wisconsin
Connected Health Care is partnering with a respected healthcare facility in Wausau, Wisconsin to find a Travel Rehabilitation RN for 12-hour variable shifts. This is a great opportunity for experienced nurses with a background in Medical-Surgical (M/S) or Rehabilitation to provide patient-centered care and support for patients recovering from stroke, trauma, debility, and more.
Job Description:
- Provide direct patient care in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, assisting patients recovering from stroke, trauma, amputation, cardiac issues, and debilitating conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust care plans as needed, and provide rehabilitation support to improve functional outcomes.
- Provide rehab-focused care for patients, including assistance with mobility, strength, and daily activities.
- Educate patients and families on post-care rehabilitation, therapy goals, and home recovery plans.
- Document patient care and progress in Epic or other EMR systems (Epic experience preferred).
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment, ensuring patient comfort and safety during rehabilitation.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Active RN License required.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Rehabilitation nursing experience preferred, but not required if you have a solid M/S background.
- Epic charting experience preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical (M/S) rehab experience preferred, or significant experience in general M/S nursing.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation nursing and the ability to work with patients in a rehab setting.
- Prior experience with stroke, trauma, amputation, and cardiac cases a plus.
- Ability to manage a variable and dynamic patient workload, with the ability to prioritize care.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to educate and support patients and families.
Unit Information:
- 12-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
- Patient ratio: 1:4-1:6 during the day and 1:8 at night.
- A diverse patient mix including stroke, trauma, cardiac, and debilitated patients.
