Position Overview
The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing respiratory care services to patients of all ages in an acute care hospital setting. This role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and a patient-centered approach to care.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory therapy assessments, treatments, and interventions
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator support
- Monitor and manage mechanical ventilation and non-invasive respiratory support
- Perform arterial blood gas sampling and analysis
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and comply with hospital policies
- Respond to emergency situations, including code responses
Education & Certification Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Idaho
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS and PALS preferred
