Connected Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a fantastic opportunity in Albuquerque, NM. This contract position offers a 36-week contract with weekly compensation up to $46/hr based on experience. Position Overview: As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will provide direct physical therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will assist in the development and implementation of therapy plans that address physical impairments and help students regain strength, mobility, and independence. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of students' functional abilities and improve their quality of life in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering physical therapy services to students as directed by a Physical Therapist.
- Implement individualized treatment plans to address physical, motor, and sensory challenges.
- Track and document students’ progress, adjusting treatments as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to provide comprehensive support and ensure the best care for each student.
- Help students improve their ability to perform daily activities through targeted interventions and exercises.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in compliance with school and healthcare regulations.
- Provide education and guidance to students, families, and staff on physical therapy exercises and techniques.
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Must be a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in the state of New Mexico.
- Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based physical therapy preferred but not required.
