Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Valid North Carolina Teaching Certification in Special Education (K-12) or equivalent
  • Certifications Requirements: State Sped certification, CPR and First Aid certifications, Adaptive Curriculum training (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of special education teaching experience with moderate intellectual disabilities
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work on-site daily, strong classroom management skills, excellent communication skills, patience and adaptability

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans aligned with adapted curriculum standards for students with moderate intellectual disabilities.
  • Provide effective instruction and support to students in a classroom setting, utilizing adaptive curriculum and differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech, occupational, and behavioral specialists, to support student needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, maintaining accurate documentation and reports.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring safety and engagement for all students.
