Special Education Teacher – Middle School Social/Emotional Classroom
Location: Mansfield, MA | Hourly Compensation: $50/hr
Position Details:
Connected Health Care is seeking a Special Education Teacher to substitute in a Middle School Social/Emotional Classroom from May 12 – June 20th in Mansfield, MA. This role involves working with a caseload of 10 students, providing specialized instruction and emotional support to help students succeed academically and socially.
Job Responsibilities:
• Provide structured instruction in a social/emotional learning (SEL) classroom for middle school students
• Implement behavioral strategies and emotional regulation techniques to support student success
• Adapt and modify lesson plans based on student needs and IEP goals
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, school counselors, and related service providers
• Utilize positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) to create a structured learning environment
• Track and document student progress, interventions, and behavior management plans
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Massachusetts Special Education Teaching License (Middle School preferred)
• Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities
• Strong knowledge of SEL strategies, behavior management, and crisis intervention
• Previous experience in self-contained or therapeutic classroom settings preferred
