In this pivotal role, you'll assist during diverse surgical procedures, maintaining sterile standards, preparing operative supplies, and supporting surgeons to ensure smooth, efficient operations. With a schedule of days, five days a week, and no nights, weekends, or major holidays, you'll enjoy a balanced work-life harmony while making a meaningful difference in patient outcomes.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Tech
- Proficiency in sterile techniques and surgical instrument handling
- Strong organizational skills to set up and prepare supplies
- Ability to assist in a variety of surgical services including Orthopedics, General, Plastics, Podiatry, Gynecology, ENT, Oral Surgery, and more
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with surgeons, patients, and team members
- Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols diligently
Nice to Have Skills:
- Cross-training experience across multiple surgical specialties
- Knowledge of the latest surgical equipment and techniques
- Prior experience in an ambulatory surgery center environment
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program (certificate not required but preferred)
- At least 2 years of hands-on surgical technologist experience in a fast-paced setting
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in a surgical suite environment with exposure to infectious diseases and latex products
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives
- Located in or willing to commute to Peoria, Illinois
