Surgical Scrub Technician (ASAP Start)

Location: Ft. Myers, FL 33912

Job Type: Full-time

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 5 pm

Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and certified Surgical Scrub Technician to join our surgical team in Ft. Myers, FL. As a key member of the surgical unit, you will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia personnel, RNs, and other surgical staff to ensure the delivery of excellent patient care throughout the surgical process.

  • Focusing on orthopedics and spine with 4 state-of-the-art OR suites
  • Performing 10-25 surgeries daily, averaging 200-300 surgeries monthly

Interview Process:

  • Initial telephone interview
  • Second interview: video or onsite interview with Facility Administrator and DON

  • Foot & Ankle Surgery
  • General Orthopedics
  • Sports Medicine
  • Hand, Wrist, & Elbow Surgery
  • Joint Replacement/Reconstruction
  • Pain Management & Spine Care
  • Spine Surgery

Competencies:

  1. Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures.
  2. Familiarity with equipment and their use in the surgery environment.
  3. Understanding of a scrub technician's duties.
  4. Adheres to safety protocols and exposure control plans.
  5. Respects the dignity of patients, families, and colleagues.
  6. Promotes effective teamwork within the center and across units.
  7. Maintains accurate documentation.
  8. Assumes additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Minimum Education/Experience: One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS (AHA) CPR certification required.
  • Special Requirements: Must be able to work variable hours and be flexible to meet the needs of the center's daily surgery schedule.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, including assisting patients and handling heavy medical equipment.
