Job Description
Travel Acute Care Med-Surg RN – Float to ICU – Coffeyville, Kansas
Connected Healthcare is seeking an experienced Acute Care Med-Surg RN for a travel assignment in Coffeyville, Kansas. This position offers a day/night rotating schedule with the opportunity to float to ICU when needed. If you’re an RN with at least 2 years of experience looking for a high-paying travel opportunity in a critical access hospital, apply today!
Job Details
- Location: Coffeyville, KS
- Setting: Acute Care / Medical-Surgical with float to ICU
- Shift: Rotating Days/Nights (days one week, nights the next, as needed)
- Hours: Guaranteed 36 hours per week – OT begins at hour 49
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (possible extension)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Unit: 16-bed unit with a daily census of 8-12 patients
- Staffing: 2-3 RNs per shift + 1-2 CNAs
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
Job Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to acute medical, surgical, observation, and swing bed patients
- Float to ICU as needed (ICU experience preferred but not required)
- Care for general and orthopedic surgical patients
- Administer medications, IVs, and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor vital signs, lab results, and patient conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
- Follow infection control protocols, including annual N-95 mask fit testing
- Maintain accurate documentation in patient records
- Occasionally assist with pediatric patients (rare but possible)
Qualifications & Requirements
- License: Active Kansas RN License or Compact State License
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care/med-surg experience required
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – Required
Additional Requirements:
Current seasonal flu vaccine required (declinations allowed, but mask required during flu season)
