Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Active RN license from the state of North Carolina or a compact state.
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS within the last 12 months; ACLS preferred but not required; Hemodialysis certification is a plus.
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years inpatient acute care hemodialysis experience, including port access skills.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to float within the hospital as needed; comfort working 12-hour day shifts; excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality hemodialysis care to patients with ESRD, CKD, and AKI, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and standards.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and treatment parameters during dialysis sessions, promptly addressing any deviations or complications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members, including charge nurses, hospitalists, and technicians, to coordinate patient care and ensure a seamless treatment process.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, patient responses, and relevant clinical data within the Epic EMR system.
  • Assist in patient education regarding dialysis procedures, port access, and post-treatment care to promote patient understanding and compliance.
