Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Current valid RN license with active state certification
  • Certifications Requirements: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS, valid Drivers License (or state ID)
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience, including 1 solid year in stepdown/PCU units; prior travel assignment preferred
  • Other Requirements: Strong assessment and critical thinking skills; ability to pass tele interpretation tests; resilient and adaptable; excellent social skills

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality stepdown/PCU nursing care within the hospital, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Assess patient conditions, initiate and titrate IV medications including insulin, heparin, and cardiac drips as per protocol.
  • Document patient care accurately and promptly using recent EPIC charting system; perform tele interpretation tests when required.
  • Respond swiftly to patient needs, including managing complex drips, drains, and other invasive devices, while maintaining patient stability.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members; float within skill set and assist with cross-campus coverage as needed.
