Travel ICU Stepdown Respiratory Therapist – Evansville, IN

Connected Health Care, a premier recruitment and staffing firm, is seeking a dedicated Travel ICU Stepdown Respiratory Therapist to support a trusted hospital partner in Evansville, Indiana. This short-term, high-impact contract offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced critical care environment while earning top-tier pay.

Position Overview

  • Contract Length: 6 weeks

  • Weekly Pay: Up to $2,490 based on experience

  • Schedule: Variable with every other weekend and holiday rotation

  • Float Requirement: Will float to inpatient units/facilities as needed

  • Charting System: EPIC (experience highly preferred)

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver respiratory therapy to patients in the ICU stepdown and general inpatient units

  • Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP therapy, and oxygen delivery systems

  • Perform ABG analysis, airway clearance techniques, and emergency respiratory interventions

  • Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to assess patient status and adjust treatment plans

  • Document all therapy and patient response in the EMR system accurately

  • Adhere to all hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards

Education & Certification Requirements

  • Active Indiana Respiratory Care Practitioner License – required

  • NBRC Certification (RRT) – required

  • AHA BLS Certification – required

  • AHA ACLS Certification – required

  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience in ICU/Stepdown – required

  • EPIC experience – highly preferred
