Local Travel Labor & Delivery Nurse Opportunity near Sioux Falls, SD
Connected Health Care, a leading recruitment and staffing firm, is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse for a local travel assignment near Sioux Falls, SD. This is a great opportunity for an experienced nurse looking to work in a dynamic healthcare setting while enjoying everything the Sioux Falls area has to offer.
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Weekly Compensation: Up to $3,000/week (based on experience)
Job Description: As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will provide high-quality care to expectant mothers before, during, and after labor and delivery. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the health and safety of both mother and baby during the childbirth process.
- Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, and other vital signs during labor
- Assist in the delivery of newborns, including performing neonatal resuscitation when necessary
- Provide emotional support and education to families before, during, and after delivery
- Administer medications, including pain management options and antibiotics as prescribed
- Monitor postpartum recovery and assist with breastfeeding initiation
- Work collaboratively with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe deliveries
- Document all aspects of labor and delivery, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes
- Educate patients about labor, delivery, and postpartum care options
Education & Certification Requirements:
- Active RN License in South Dakota
- Minimum of 1 year experience in Labor & Delivery nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certification preferred
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care
