Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited university.
  • Certifications Requirements:
    • Current Texas Speech Language Pathologist license or valid Texas compact license.
    • Provide evidence of ASHA certification or equivalent certification in Speech-Language Pathology, if applicable.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience Requirements:
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
    • At least 2 years of SLP experience preferred, particularly in long-term care settings.
    • Experience working with diverse patient populations.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Ability to work dayshift hours, approx. 8 hours per day.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to follow regulatory guidelines and facility policies.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive speech and language assessments for residents in the long-term care facility.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve residents' communication, swallowing, and cognitive functions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated resident care and progress monitoring.
  • Document all patient interactions and progress accurately in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on communication strategies and therapeutic interventions.
