Travel Mammography Assistant – Wausau, WI

Location: Wausau, WI
Shift: 7:00 PM - 3:30 AM (8-hour variable shifts)
Contract: 13 weeks | 72 guaranteed hours biweekly (OT after 80 hours in the second week)

Job Overview

Connected Health Care is seeking a Travel Mammography Assistant  for an exciting opportunity in Wausau, WI. This role is ideal for a compassionate and organized professional with strong patient interaction skills who will assist in mobile mammography operations while ensuring safe transportation of the mobile unit.

Job Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Greet and escort patients to and from the mobile mammography unit while ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety
• Assist with patient positioning and operate the mechanical lift for wheelchair or mobility-impaired patients
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide courteous, professional interactions
• Perform daily bone density quality control (QC) and enter patient demographics into the bone density unit
• Assist Technologists with patient screening forms as needed
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked environment inside and outside of the mobile unit

Clerical Duties

• Answer phone calls and verify the daily schedule for accuracy
• Register patients, handle order entry, and update facility staff on scheduling changes
• Retrieve prior bone density studies and ensure timely exam delivery to providers
• Organize and prioritize paperwork while maintaining accurate documentation

Technical & Operational Support

• Perform start-up procedures for computers, mammography, and bone density units
• Monitor and maintain proper mammography unit temperature at the start of each day
• Enter work tickets for maintenance of the unit's interior
• Assist in ordering and restocking supplies for procedure rooms as needed

Schedule & Travel Requirements

• Monday-Friday shifts (8-12 hours per shift, varies daily)
• Travel within a 90-mile radius south of Wausau and 85 miles north as needed
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements

Requirements

• Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (Required)
• AHA or ARC BLS Certification (Required)
• DOT Physical & Drug/Alcohol Screening (Required)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
• Previous clinical medical work experience beneficial
• Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and ethical standards
