Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Associate degree or higher in Nursing (ASN or BSN).
  • Certifications Requirements: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS, and current Illinois RN license.
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of strong Medical Surgical or Telemetry experience, with at least 1 travel assignment.
  • Other Requirements: Recent EPIC charting experience, ability to manage Neuro assessments, critical thinking skills, and resilience to manage change effectively.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive neuro and neuro-surgical patient care utilizing strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Administer medications, including titrating Heparin gtts, and manage blood products, blood cultures, and IV therapies.
  • Perform NIHSS assessments, dysphagia screening, and complete neuro assessments per protocol.
  • Manage medical overflow patients, including straight catheters, Foley placements, NG tubes, and indwelling drains.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes and proper documentation in EPIC.
