Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Nursing degree (RN) from an accredited program
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS certification, Wisconsin state nursing license, OR experience certification (preferred)
  • Experience Requirements:Minimum of 2 years of recent OR experience, including ophthalmology, orthopedics, or plastics
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work Day and Night shifts, strong communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide safe and effective perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing ophthalmology, orthopedic, and plastics surgeries, following established protocols and standards.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by preparing and maintaining sterile environments, managing surgical instruments, and ensuring optimal patient positioning.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia levels during surgeries, promptly reporting any abnormalities to the surgical team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and surgical procedures in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
  • Participate in call rotations, providing emergent and urgent care coverage for complex cases during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
