Travel Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN – Wausau, WI
13-Week Contract | Weekly Pay Up to $2,700 (DOE)
Connected Health Care, a trusted recruitment and staffing partner, is seeking a highly experienced Travel/Contract PACU Registered Nurse to join a top-rated medical facility in Wausau, Wisconsin. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned RN with strong post-op, cardiac, and pediatric experience looking to expand their career in a supportive and high-performing perioperative environment.
Job Description:

Provide compassionate, expert care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU
-
Monitor patients' vital signs, consciousness level, pain, and post-op complications
-
Manage recovery from various types of anesthesia (general, regional, local)
-
Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and inpatient teams for safe patient handoffs
-
Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes using hospital EMR
-
Ensure patient safety and comfort during critical recovery phases
Shift & Schedule:
-
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 8-hour variable shifts
-
On-call requirements: One night per week for 4 out of every 6 weeks

Weekend on-call: Every 5th weekend
-
Call response time: Must be able to report to the OR within 30 minutes
-
Weekday on-call shift: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM, followed by 9:30 PM – 7:30 AM next morning

Holiday rotation required
Qualifications:
-
Active Wisconsin RN license (or compact license)
-
AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of recent PACU experience in a hospital setting

Must have experience with post-cardiac and pediatric patients
-
Strong ability to manage airway, pain control, and post-anesthesia complications
-
Excellent communication and critical thinking in high-pressure situations
