Location: Pagosa Springs, CO
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Job Description

As a Travel Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering chemotherapy treatments and medications to patients in accordance with protocols
  • Monitoring patients' responses to treatments and collaborating with oncologists and healthcare teams
  • Educating patients and their families about treatment plans, side effects, and self-care techniques
  • Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients throughout their cancer journey
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation of treatments and interventions
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient-centered care
  • Adhering to safety protocols and infection control measures

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) with intent to pursue BSN
  • Active RN license in Colorado or compact state licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Oncology Nurse, including administering chemotherapy
  • OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification preferred
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Strong clinical and critical-thinking skills to handle diverse patient needs
  • Empathy, compassion, and excellent communication skills
