Job Requirements
  • Education Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing degree from an accredited institution
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification (or equivalent), Valid GA State Nursing License
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a hospital setting; experience with pulmonary and thoracic patients preferred
  • Other Requirements: Ability to work 3-12 hour shifts; strong communication and critical thinking skills; ability to float within a hospital setting; proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems; physical ability to perform job duties

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), ensuring safety, comfort, and effective treatment plans.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, analyze clinical data, and escalate concerns to the healthcare team as necessary.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, adhering to physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient care activities within the EMR system.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and education efforts.
