Job Description

Local Travel Surgical Technician – 13-Week Contract
Location: Wausau, WI
Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 8-Hour Days
Facility: Aspirus Wausau Hospital

Connected Health Care, a leading recruitment and staffing firm, is seeking an experienced Travel Surgical Technician for a 13-week contract at a top-tier healthcare facility in Wausau, WI. If you have a strong background in cardiac/thoracic surgery and are looking for a rewarding travel opportunity, we want to hear from you!

Job Description:

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment
  • Efficiently set up the operative suite and ensure all necessary supplies are available
  • Assist surgeons during procedures in cardiac, thoracic, and thoracic robotic surgeries
  • Turn over surgical rooms quickly between procedures
  • Work with a team of three cardiothoracic surgeons handling approximately 50-60 cases per month
  • Participate in an on-call rotation (1 night per week, 1 weekend per month, 1 backup per week) with a 30-minute response time

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications: AHA BLS (Required), CST License (Preferred)
  • Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in cardiac/thoracic surgery (Required)
  • Prior travel experience (Required)
  • Experience with thoracic robotic procedures (Preferred)
  • Soft Skills: Hardworking, resilient, adaptable to change, team-oriented
  • Charting System: Facility uses Epic

    Contract Details:

  • Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every 3rd or 4th weekend and holiday rotation
  • Scrub Colors: Provided by the facility
