Job Description:

• Prepare and process tissue samples for microscopic examination.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including tissue processors, embedding centers, and microtomes.
• Assist with the diagnosis of diseases by performing immunohistochemistry (IHC), special stains, and routine histology procedures.
• Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with facility standards.
• Follow quality control protocols and ensure safety regulations are adhered to.

Education and Certification Requirements:

• ASCP certification as a Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histotechnician (HT) is required.
• Associate’s degree in Histotechnology or a related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a histology laboratory.
• Proficient in embedding, microtomy, and staining techniques.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) is a plus.
