Job Description

• Assist in surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and sterility at all times
• Monitor patient status during surgery, reporting any changes to the surgical team
• Prepare and maintain operating room for emergency procedures
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other OR team members
• Document patient progress, treatments, and post-operative recovery steps
• Support recovery room staff in transitioning patients post-surgery

Education and Certification Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure must be in good standing)
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• BSN degree preferred but not required
• Current Compact License or New Hampshire state licensure

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong understanding of OR procedures, patient care, and surgical instruments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
• Proficiency in EMR documentation and OR management software
