Job Description
- Assist surgeons and nursing teams during surgical procedures
- Prepare operating rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and available
- Maintain a sterile field during surgeries and adhere to aseptic techniques
- Handle surgical instruments, supplies, and medications
- Monitor patient safety and communicate with surgical team as needed
- Ensure post-operative equipment disinfection and cleanup
- Document procedures and follow hospital protocols
Education and Certification Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology preferred
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in an operating room setting
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong understanding of surgical instruments and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of precision and accuracy
- Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
